'The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop (with the Ant-Hill Mob)’ and ‘Dastardly & Muttley In Their Flying Machines’, both spin-offs from Hanna-Barbera’s ‘Wacky Races’, made their debuts on British Saturday Morning TV, whilst the children’s time-travel drama, ‘Timeslip', first appeared on ITV. Freda Payne continued her 6 week run at the top of the singles charts with 'Band Of Gold', whilst Simon and Garfunkel returned to the top spot of the album chart for the 23 rd time with their ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ album.
